According to researchers at Michigan State University, as many as 1 million U.S. school kids may have been misdiagnosed with ADHD because of being younger then their peers in the class rooms.  “If a child is behaving poorly, if he’s inattentive, if he can’t sit still, it may simply be because he’s  and the other are kids are 6,” said Todd Elder, assistant professor of economics at MSU.  He also found that when students reached the fifth and eight grades, the youngest were more often prescribe stimulant than their older classmates.

Often times, chiropractic can help someone with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  Chiropractors detect for any spinal misalignments and relieve any pressure that is put on the spinal cord.  A thorough examination helps locate areas of nervous system compromise.  The moving bones of the spine are common culprits.  Then, specific chiropractic adjustments help reduce these interferences.  The intent is to restore your body’s ability to regulate and heal itself.  Without drugs.  Without surgery.

Chiropractic is simple.  It’s natural.  It honors the wisdom of your body.  And it has helped millions enjoy relief and better health for more than a century.

The Benefits of Honey

Why did the father of medicine, Hippocrates, emphasized the importance of honey as natural sweetener?   Honey contain many beneficial minerals such as magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium chloride, sulfur, and iron.  It is a natural antioxidant with microbial properties that boost the immune the system.  It is a an excellent substitute for sugar(high fructose corn syrup).

The first International Symposium on Honey and Human Health in January 2008 presented research that included findings suggesting that large amounts of friendly bacteria in honey may account for its therapeutic properties. Honey is a more effective cough suppressant for children over a year old than other widely used cough medicines. Another effective use of honey is a dressing for wounds. The unique combination of ingredients in honey dries out the wound and provides antibacterial and antiseptic benefits. Honey reduces odors, swelling and scarring. A recent Indian study involving burn patients found that honey was vastly superior to conventional treatments in suppressing infection and in speeding healing. (Natural News)

So before adding packets of sugar to your coffee, try adding a few drops of honey and understand why honey is a healthy alternative to complex sugar.

Vitaminwater or Sugar water?

(NaturalNews) Do you ever wonder things like “Who is actually gullible enough to think that Vitaminwater is healthy?” Although that question may seem demeaning or even arrogant, it turns out that the Coca-Cola company (which owns the Vitaminwater brand) is essentially asking that exact question.

How so? In response to a recent lawsuit against Coca-Cola filed by the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), Coke’s attorneys replied in court briefings that, “…no consumer could reasonably be misled into thinking vitaminwater was a healthy beverage.”

Except, of course, millions of consumers were misled into believing precisely that. This illusion was helped in no small part by Coca-Cola’s advertising of Vitaminwater, which blatantly positions it as a health-enhancing beverage. Even the name itself implies that the product is made solely out of vitamins and water.  (Read the rest of the article here)

So what exactly is “vitamin” water?  Well, the first two ingredients listed are vitamin and water.  However, the “vitamins” are synthetic and are not natural.  Some experts suggest that it should not be ingested.  The other main ingredient is water.  Water is great when it is pure and not consist of crystalline fructose.  So you are pretty much drinking “sugar water.” How much sugar?

A lot more than you might think: While the label claims only 13 grams of sugar per serving, one bottle of vitamin water is actually 2.5 servings, meaning that you’re chugging down 32 grams of liquid sugars with every bottle.

Everyone should learn how to read the labels.  Drinking a bottle of Vitmainwater is like drink a can of soda.

I recommend drinking fresh, pure water.  If you have a sweet tooth, try juicing your own fresh organic grown veggies!
